Sober Living Homes: Life After The Drug Detox Center
Sober Living Homes: Returning To Your Home
The idea behind entering sober living homes is not to live their forever. The idea is either to enter a sober living home to get help with a drug or alcohol problem and then leave no longer an addict but a recovering addict. Sober homes also function as homes post rehab. People enter them once they’ve finished rehab because they need an in between place to live until they feel comfortable entering back into the world that they left prior to rehab.
Drug Detox Center: Letting The Rehab Staff Help You
The best thing you can do when entering a drug detox center is let the staff of doctors and counselors who are there help you. You are going to need a shoulder to lean on during this time. Detox is hard. Depending on how severe your drug or alcohol dependency is you can go through some serious DTs. If you are stubborn towards or angry at the people in the rehab that’s normal. You are not yourself when going through detox. Chances are you haven’t been yourself for some time.
Knowing When Your Husband Is No Longer Sober
If your husband was recovering from an alcohol or drug addiction problem and you’ve started to suspect that he’s no longer sober you cannot ignore your gut feeling. The thing is most recovering addicts that fall off the wagon think they are fooling you. However, if you’ve lived with an addict long enough then you can spot the change in behavior pretty quickly. Usually, they start to slur their words or become overly affectionate or easily angered. They show up late for dinner and either have too convoluted of an excuse of not enough of an excuse. Unfortunately, sometimes you need to catch them red handed to get them to admit they fell off the wagon.
