Sober Living: Sober Alcohol Is An Oxi-Moron
Coming Clean About Sober Living
If you have been working toward sober living for months and suddenly fall of the wagon you need to tell someone immediately. Don’t wait and let the problem fester and get worse. Anyone who has an addiction problem whether it’s drugs and alcohol, gambling, sex or food feels terrible when they slip up but everyone slips up. That’s why it’s called an addiction and that’s why you need the support of friends, family and sponsors to get you back on track.
Dealing With Alcoholism Can End A Marriage
It’s hard on any marriage when you are dealing with alcoholism sometimes marriages don’t make it even after the addict goes to rehab. If your partner is an alcoholic or a recovering alcoholic, chances are a lot of the relationship has been about them. You have had to sacrifice a great deal and by the time your spouse finally got help you felt the marriage was over. You were so resentful of all that you went through. If you are feeling this way it’s probably good to see a therapist yourself and then also go to couples counseling and see if you can’t work out some of your anger and hurt feelings.
Sober Alcohol Is An Oxi-Moron
People who say they are sober alcohol are not really sober. Lots of times addicts will go to rehab, get clean and when they leave decide that they are going to drink but only at parties. They make deals with their sobriety partly because they now think they have I under control and while they went to rehab and did the work they never saw themselves as an alcoholic. Negotiating with ones sobriety does not work. Eventually, the addict will start to drink again and go back to their same old bad behavior as before.
