Treatment

Admitting the need for help can be a very difficult thing to do-especially for someone who is accustomed to dealing with difficult matters on his own, day in and day out. But even in the business world, there are times when your own abilities and expertise aren't sufficient to deal with a crisis. And your addiction is (or soon will be) such a crisis.

Executive Sober Living does not provide treatment services, but we have partnered with one of the most successful drug and alcohol rehab centers in Southern California, located close to our facility. Through this partnership, you'll receive the treatment you need, and you'll also be treated extremely well.

The specific program of treatment that's right for you will be determined following your intake assessment. You'll actually participate in designing that program, which will be an individualized schedule of counseling sessions, 12 Step meetings and other activities, with the flexibility to allow you to tend to pressing business or simply enjoy the many opportunities for recreation and relaxation in our sunny Southern California beach community.

In general terms, two types of treatment are available: Inpatient and Outpatient. Just as their names suggest, Inpatient treatment is residential, while outpatient treatment allows the individual to return to work or home when not actively involved in treatment related concerns.

Inpatient Treatment
This program of recovery requires that the patient remain in a treatment center for a length of time (usually 30 to 90 days), purposely separated from the routine surroundings and activities of the patient's life. Throughout this time, the patient participates in daily individual and group therapy sessions, lectures about the process of addiction, and workshops teaching skills and techniques for avoiding relapse. Patients are given an introduction to the 12 Step model of recovery, patterned after the Alcoholics Anonymous program. Medication management (for co-occurring disorders, such as depression) is also provided.

Outpatient Treatment
Outpatient programs offer a narrower range of services than Inpatient treatment, and provide only limited structure and oversight. As an Outpatient, the individual attends counseling sessions and group activities at regularly scheduled times. During these visits, the patient participates in activities similar to those provided to Inpatients: individual and group therapy, drug education and relapse avoidance workshops, and 12 Step meetings.
